Hello all this is my first post so I hope it is in the correct place.
I was worried about my fiance and his chances of getting through MEPS. In 2014 he was diagnosed with histoplasmosis and required a lung surgery to remove a nodule in his left lung. The specific surgery he underwent was a left VATS total pulmonary decortication with a left VATS wedge resection of the left lower lobe. He is now histoplasmosis free and has no limitations/ restrictions from his surgery or the illness. He talked to his recruiter about this and all he was told was to have all documentation from the surgery gathered to be sent in. Has anyone delt with anything similar? I read through the manual from the DOD and couldn't make make a solid decision. He hasn't had a lobectomy (which I know is a DQ) but the fact that he had to have lung surgery makes me concerned.
Thank you all in advance.
