Hey everyone! New to this whole thing, so bear with me. I'm currently a cyber intel analyst looking to get a little more out of my time on this planet, and make more of a difference in LE and homeland security. At 36, my options for getting in are rather limited, so I'm applying to the DCIO program, as well as the Reserves. I just got cleared on medical and am waiting to hear back on a DEPOT and A-School dates (going in as a BM for the Reserves).
My question for anyone out there who may be familiar with my kind of situation:
Would the whole Reserves / DEPOT / A-School route affect my DCIO application process at all? I want to go active duty, and the DCIO is my only option for that, but I was told that I could also join as a Reservist in the event I don't get accepted in DCIO and still keep applying while at least "getting my foot in the door" as a Reserve BM.
Hope that makes sense.
