In the helmsman it says that, "you must bring... at least one form of government issued photo ID." I just paid to get my new state ID in the mail in the next two weeks which gives me a little cushion before I ship out on the 24th this month. In the event that I dont get this before I ship off would a High School Photo ID be acceptable? Unfortunately I've had trouble with proving my residency to the CalDMV so getting a new ID and Drivers license has proven difficult. Thanks for the feedback.

I would suggest you run this by your recruiter.

Do you have a passport? You can take that. And I thought it said two forms of ID, one being your social security card which you DO need. If you don't get it in time your parents can mail it to you. You need to notify them. I don't recall if it was needed the first couple days you are there or not, perhaps someone else can chime in.

Unfortnately I dont have a passport but I do have my Social Security card of course. From what I heard all I need is ID to get me through security and a High School ID with a birth certificate or social security card will suffice. Worst case I will just have my parents send it to me

If you can't get hold of your recruiter then I suggest you ask someone in the office. Without the correct ID I doubt you will ship.

You can't board a flight without a government id. High school id means nothing. Passport, drivers license, state id card that is what is required to fly. The helmsman says 1 form of government id, you quote it yourself. High school is not a government id. Contact your recruiters office tomorrow morning. You do not want to show up without the right paperwork and be sent home.

Did the DMV give you a paper copy until your one arrives in the mail? That is 100% acceptable to both TSA and for boot camp.

Ok so I went over to my recruiters office and signed my contract and everything. During that meeting I talked to him and he said that as long as I have my social security card and high school ID ill be fine. And about getting a printout from the DMV the most they could give me was a copy of my permit with my name, picture and other info. The only problem is that it says, "NOT A VALID ID," all over it.
