I realize this might be a stupid question, but I am a reservist reporting to my unit for the first time. The uniform I am instructed to report in is "Tropical Blue Long". While I am familiar with the Tropical Blue uniform, I have never heard of it referred to as "Tropical Blue Long" and I wanted to confirm that there is no variations or differences I was unaware of.

No difference. The uniform is officially referred to as "Tropical Blue Long," but most refer to it as "Trops."

Tropical Blue Long doesn't exist anymore, and hasn't for some time now. There is only Tropical Blue now. Back in the day, you could wear shorts with the trop shirt. The Tropical Blue Long name was associated with wearing pants. The CG did away with the shorts version a number of years ago, and the Tropical Blue Long name went away at the same time. It's just Tropical Blue now. Hope this helps.

Isn't the Tropical Blue uniform just a slightly edited version of the Air Force uniform?

Haha, that is actually what I was wondering, if the Long == long sleeve blue shirt. I was given a lot of long sleeve blue shirts and it is winter, so I felt it kinda made sense.

That long sleep trop shirt is meant to wear under your SDB. Have you seen the winter dress blues? I believe thats what they are called. Its a long sleeve but a real dark blue color They look awesome! I need to pick one up as they don't come in your boot camp issued gear.

Yeah, I just was surprised I was issued 3 or 4 long sleeves only for the SDB, since it sounds like they aren't worn too often.
