I recently became interested in joining the Coast Guard Auxiliary and had a question related to disqualifying offenses.
When I was 19 I was convicted for possession of marijuana. There was no jail time involved just a fine. I am currently 48 years old, married with children, own a home and a small business, do not do drugs, do not drink, do not smoke and other than the previously mentioned possession conviction, have no criminal background of any kind.
My question is would the conviction disqualify me from joining the Auxiliary and fully participating in it's programs.
