So I was just told by my stepdad that I have 2 months to move out of the house. I have been hit with this threat before but now it seems like he really means it. I'm 18 years old. My question is, should I tell my recruiter this? I mean I am still waiting for my medical waiver to go through and don't know if its worth mentioning this to my recruiter. Would it ruin my chances? (P.S. I am not looking for sympathy, I recognize that I've made mistakes and know that it is within my parents rights to kick me out, I will not make excuses. Nevertheless, I am still pretty rattled and want to focus wholly on the CG, that is why I posted this.)

Are you being asked to leave because you did anything that would prohibit you from enlisting? Since you have been given two months to find a place to live I'd wait a few weeks to tell your recruiter. If your wavier is approved then explain to your recruiter that you would like to ship ASAP.

Thank you for your response. No I did not do anything that would prohibit me from enlisting. Just family issues.

The only thing I'd tell my recruiter is your new address. Do you have some place to stay?

Not really. My friend offered his home and so did my grandma, but I don't feel right doing that. I feel like I would be a burden. I don't know if that makes sense or not?

First and foremost you have to have a roof over your head and a safe place to stay. If your Grandmother has offered then take her up on it.

So your choice is that or be homeless if your step father is serious about putting you out? This is a no brainer

yeah. You're right. I just really hope I sign my contract by the time i get kicked out. This made me come up with another question. If my tmj waiver is denied, and I go to civilian doctors and fix it and prove that everything is ok, can I try the process again? Or should I do that now? My recruiter turned in my paperwork already and I dont know if it would help my case or its too late.

There is no cure for TMD, it is a reoccurring issue.

I'm going to go slightly off topic here for a minute. What is so horrible that he feels the need to put you out? If you don't wish to answer, I understand. I'm a dad myself. I have a 19 year old son, who will be starting his sophomore year in college soon, and a 25 year old daughter, who's the mom of two charming grandboys. There's nothing any of them could do that would make me not welcome them into this home.

The fact that you're making a concerted effort to enlist in the CG ought to be worth something to him. Does he understand that by kicking you out, he may be jeopardizing the very thing that could lead you to a successful start in life?

If he's serious about this, you need to consider the offers that have been given you. As M1A said, this will give you a roof over your head and it will allow you to focus on enlisting.

It's a bunch of little stuff. We never got along, I always had attitude when he told me to do something, and I disagree with this religion. They're conscientious objectors...And I'm not. You could see the friction this causes.
