I've got a question that I can't seem to find a straight answer to online and hopefully someone here could guide me in the right direction.
So I've already got 6 years, 3 months in the Army National Guard with an honorable discharge (no active duty time, other than training). I ETS'd out in 2013 and I'm now reenlisting in the CGR effective 7/22/18 as an E-5. What pension/retirement system do I fall under here? Does it revert back to my initial entry date, even though I had no TSP account setup at that point, or am I automatically enrolled in the "modernized" plan? I'm definitely staying at least up to the 20 year mark this time, I regret wasting the last 5 years (and regret not going CGR in the first place for that matter).
Now to further complicate this situation, I'm hoping to go through SRDC next year or the year after and I was always told the officer pensions were "different" from enlisted, so does this make any difference?
Thank you in advance to anybody that can help. Obviously this isn't a time sensitive issue, I just like being able to plan accordingly and know what I've got lying ahead of me.
