    This might be kinda easy but what was the name of the first U. S. surface vessel to reach the North Pole and what year did that happen.

    All i can find are 2 USN SUBS, and a russian ice break.
    EDIT: This isn't a trick question is it? and your talking about the North Pole and not North pole Alaska, right?
