my boss and i were taking a trip from socal up to mendocino to do some ab diving.  he has a little boat, about 15 feet long that we had on a trailer that we were towing behind us.  it was set up in a very redneck fashion, our running lights didnt work so we had to get tap lights and paint them with red nail polish, then we had the boat filled with fire wood, covered it with a tarp and had an anchor to hold the tarp down.  well we were driving north on the 5 freeway.  well all of a sudden we felt the whole truck jolt, and my boss mike looked back and saw flames and sparks spraying from the boat, he looks at me and says "shit shaun, that boats on fire and the fire extinguisher is in the boat!" so we pull over and go look, and find that the left wheel of the trailer has become completly detached and we cant find it.  my boss walks about a quarter mile back and looks and cant find it, he then decides to walk forward up the freeway and finds the tire about a quarter mile north (keep in mind we are going up a slight hill).  it had gone a quarter mile up a hill and then crossed two lanes hwy, then a 25m ditch, then two more lanes and ended up on the opposite side of the hwy.  so we bring it back and call a tow truck.  tow truck driver asks where we are, he says california on the 5.  tow truck driver asks to be more specific.  there is nothing around us, no signs, nothing, so he says "well i see a cow to my right, and hill to my left" then he got the bright idea to jump in the boat and hit the man overboard button on the GPS and got our lattitude and longitude and told the tow truck driver.

to this day we still have the red nail polish tap lights hanging in the bar in his backyard to remind us of the 'wonderful' trip.
