Hello, all A schools are over 90 days but is that time considered IADT or do members receive DD214s? If a Reservist completes basic training, A school, and their typical "one weekend a month / two weeks a year" would a member receive a DD214? Seems like in that case, the only 90+ day opportunity would be from A school.

No. That’s not AD. No DD214.

You will only get a 214 for Title 10 orders or ADOS orders of 90 days duration or more

Thank you both for the quick and concise response. My confusion stems from other branches receiving them after initial training.

    I believe A School does fall under Title 10 - 10 U.S.C. 671.

BTW, congrats on retirement CPORJM! I saw this notice while scrolling through this forum.

A School does not qualify for T10 purposes. You are not getting a 214 for that.

Greetings and thank you.  10 USC 671 states that personnel cannot be assigned outside the US until training is completed.  It doesn't say anything in regards to the point you're trying to make.  https://www.govinfo.gov/app/details/USCODE-2010-title10/USCODE-2010-title10-subtitleA-partII-chap39-sec671

The three types of active duty that you CAN receive a 214 for are as follows:

T10 (under section 12301)- active duty due to a national emergency or war

T14- Coast Guard contingency operations in support of a man made or natural disaster, e.g the recent hurricanes or the Deepwater Horizon disaster in 2010

Active Duty Operational Support (ADOS)-  often used to fill manpower shortages or provide manpower for special events.  An example of this is Operation Summerstock, which takes place May-September in the 9th Coast Guard District (Great Lakes).  There is an increased need for manpower in this area due to the exponential increase in recreational boating traffic during the summer months.
