@73SAR Results normally take 4-6 weeks. Obviously, if they take 2-3 this time that would be great, but not what's happened in the past. Did your recruiter allude to the possibility that results would come out sooner (2-3 weeks, like you mentioned) because of the delay in the board? Trying to discern if this was actual guidance passed to him/her or if they are just an overly optimistic recruiter. |

I was told unofficial results are told to the recruiters a week or two in advance of the official results and they pass the word along to applicants. I'm hoping next week we start hearing whos been selected. The official results will be around June yeah. I'll take any news, I'm dying here, haha |

@Zeus89, I believe he was speaking in regard to unofficial results. Looking at past boards, I believe we are still looking at 4 weeks from the panel convening date. From my experience with this recruiter I'd say he was being a little too optimistic when he mentioned results may be available 2-3 weeks after the date. He didn't mention anything about quicker results because the board was delayed. |

I am also hoping for next week after refreshing my email like a madman all week. I finally asked a contact at HQ who said she knew where the package was this past week and it "isn't there yet," which I took to mean hasn't make it to the Commandant for signature. I still think 4 weeks after panel is optimistic but nothing is normal these days so it could happen. Fingers crossed. |

If she knows where it is does she happen to know who is on it -
I’m really hoping that we hear something before the end of the month........the suspense is killing me. |

FYI everyone, the reason why DCO results take longer is because they need to be approved by the DHS Secretary for appointment. |

I'm a DCE applicant for this board as well. I'm just hoping we get word sometime soon. Are there other forums that people are checking for information? |

My recruiter let me know on Wednesday our unofficial results were with the Commandant, and we may have something in the next few days. Hopefully something back today. If anyone else has the good word, please share |

My recruiter called me right after I saw this. Glad I got selected and I'm honored to be given this opportunity to serve. Now the waiting game starts all over again for commissioning and orders. Good luck to everyone else. |

So I got selected for PTMO, but I saw in the message that it says it is a “reserve commission” Sorry if this is a dumb question but I wanted an active duty contract. Does this mean I can only serve in the Coast Guard Reserve? |

No. You will be a Reservist on AD. |

Thank you, and at the end of my 3 year AD obligation, do I have to go back to the reserves? Or do I have an opportunity to stay on active duty to continue a career? |

I got one of the DCIO alternate spots.
Disappointed but I’m hopeful seeing as looking back on some of the other threads some of the alternates have been picked up in the past.
Guess we will see what happens and I will start prepping a package for the next board. |

When your initial three years are nearly up, you can apply to integrate into the AD side of the Coast Guard |

Conversely, what happens when you decide to get out after the 3 year commitment? Can you transition to a reserves position or are you just let go? |

As long as you haven't been passed over for promotion more than twice, you can transition into the Reserve |

DCIO primary here, is the time between promotions the same as other services? I am currently a CW2 in the army and got picked up for LTJG - just curious when I would be looked at for LT and LCDR. |

After 36 months you'll get LT. Off the top of my head it's like a 97% promotion rate from O2 to O3.
LT is where you'll spend most of your time. |

For those who were selected, do you mind replying to this thread when you receive your official letters? How long after the release of the message do people typically receive their notice letters? Also , at what point in the process does a detailer typically reach out to you to discuss assignment? |

Thanks Bearded. Do you know the typical time frame from pinning LT to getting looked at for LCDR? Just trying to plan way out in advance. |

I believe it's 8 years (maybe 10?), but don't quote me on that. The CG Portal site is down at the moment so I can't check the official numbers. |

Hello, ladies and gentlemen, longtime lurker, first time poster. I've been stalking this forum for what feels like months now, and I'm super excited to have picked up a DCA slot. I have a question, I'm hoping to come over to the Coast Guard with 20 days of leave. Does anyone know how I can make that happen? Also, I see my name on that roster but no recruiter has reached out and I've not gotten any mail...am I alone in that? |

I am on the primary DCL list and got a call from my recruiter but no documents yet. I blacked out a little from excitement on the call, but I believe he said to expect documents via email. So far, I still haven't received anything ether (email or snail mail). |

I am a primary too and have yet to receive anything as well. My recruiter did reach out for some supplemental medical forms but I think we wont see much move forward until after we sign the offer for our commission in email/snail mail we are supposed to get within the month after unofficial results are released. |

8 years sounds like a long time, is that something that pertains to cg officer promotions solely? Seems like other branches all promote around the 6 yr mark from O-3 to O-6. |
