I'm considering joining the Coast Guard and would like to glean any first or secondhand insight from you on what it's like working on an aids to navigation team at Duluth (or any other ANT station on the Great Lakes). I've been in touch with a recruiter but I thought I may have better luck here. Just a few questions:
- What's the likelihood of getting assigned to Duluth as a first choice? I can't imagine Duluth is a popular choice because of the long winters.
- How many people work at the station?
- What is the aids to navigation work like here and how much does it vary with the seasons?
- Would you recommend the station based on experience/what you've heard?
Thank you for your time
