Haven't been here in a few years, but I'm hoping someone can give me a reality check so I know what to expect.
I used to be active duty, I was an FN on Polar Star and then an AET up at CGAS Sitka (250~ hours as a BA on 60's). I got out to go to school back in June 2018, and I'm graduating with a bachelor's degree in Aeronautics in about 6 months, I'll have an average GPA of 3.67 if everything pans out the way it should. Since then I've gotten my FAA private pilot certificate and I'm about to pick up an instrument rating. If I had been smart about it, I would have applied for CSPI/WiFI ages ago, but that's a conversation for another time.
My question is, given my prior enlistment, degree, and flight experience (both civil and USCG), would I be a reasonable candidate for OCS and then a pilot training slot following that? I've already sent out feelers to my local recruiter but it'll probably be a few days before they get back to me. I also reached out to the Air Force, but I'm not sure I would want to go that route if I can put my blue suit back on.
Thanks folks, I appreciate any feedback you have for me.
