Well I just had work done on my huge side piece tattoo that I got. And I figured, we had a thread about peoples pets, which by the way was awesome they are all very cute, so I figured, why not have everyone show off their ink! I will make another post with my pictures attached, I have to get them off of myspace and take a new photo of my fresh ink, but while I do that, why don't some of you post yours and maybe the meaning/reason behind them? Sailors love their tattoos!! Lets have fun with this one!

Butterfly because I was feeling girly.....my best friend in the world drew me the smiley face, and the stick figures, well they are just funny and thats reason enough.
I have four more tatts to post, but I'll do that tomorrow or a few days from now. Hope everyone enjoys them!!

Adding color to the whole thing. The clouds are going to be a purple/pink with lightening and who knows what hes doing for color on the ship. I love color, not that big a fan of just black and white

This one is a stylized letter "F" For my last name (Its how it looks when I sign my name). I am going to get it outlined like the skin has been pealed back, and the metal is what is under it. |

And on my other arm is this one. It's a phoenix. It is there to remind me that when things get rough, shake it off and do what I have to do to get myself together and keep going, just like the phoenix, who when old and warn out, flies into a fire, to emerge refreshed, young and new.
The artist was not very good on this one, so it's not perfect, but I think it gives it character.
The pics are not the best, hard to take pictures of your own arms.
I would also like to mention that I draw my own art. No flash copies for this guy. |

OMG! Michelle I love the ship!!! Seriously, I've had the tattoo bug ever since the baby was born. I want to get another so dang bad and this just made it worse. I got 3...I'll post pics later on. I want to get another on my back sholder-Mae's birth flower is a rose so I was thinking an old style tattoo "art" theme with roses around an anchor-the anchor of course is for Marsh. I however LOVE black and grey...so thats probably the direction I'm going to go.

Lol its hard to shake the tattoo bug when you got it, isn't it Cassie? I like the idea of the roses and anchor. My buddy wants to continue the ship down part of my thigh with a compass rose or something. We'll see. This one hurts bad enough as it is lol. He eventually wants me to be one of his convention show girls but I told him only if its close to where i'm being stationed next lol. I'll post my others in the next few days. I just got home after driving 7 hours in the damn snow and still have to go get groceries. Virginia can not come fast enough!!

Thanks for all the great comments guys! I will be going through more sittings for it while I am on leave in March. Also, along with the ship, on March 2nd I will be getting a nautical star on the inside of each arm, red and green for port and starboard.
