Here it is: I am prior enlisted in the Army and I am thinking about entering the Coast Guard JAG program. I graduate law school in December and take the bar in February. Anyway, a recruiter told me that I exceed the maximum number of dependants which is three. I have a wife, two kids and one due in a few weeks. I have never heard of this, nor can I find it anywhere. I have read some of the other posts on this forum and and some of the prospective enlistees mentioned that they also had a spouse and kids. Is what I was told true? If so, can I get a waiver? This sounds like an excellent program and I wouldn't want to be turned down for a stupid reason like this.
Also, I have six years active duty and would want to be paid accordingly. However, I have been out since 91 and I was wondering if they would still coun't my service time. An 0-3 with 6 years enlisted time starts out pretty well.
If anyone can give me info I'd appreciate it.
