    Thank you for the article. That explain why shipboard life is dangerous. It is a very rewarding job but you always have to be on your toes and ready to go.

    I am very proud to say that my son helped to fight that fire on the Gallatin! He is also a certified fire fighter as well as having fire training from boot camp. He said everyone worked like a team to do what they had to do. He said when he heard the words "fire,fire fire" memories of boot camp came right back to him. Very Proud...

    I thought about you immediately! I am so glad he is ok and performed without any problems or hesitation! Kudos to him! You'll have to let us know what else is said about the boat... if it will have to stay in dry dock longer or if the damage wasn't too terrible... Glad to hear the crew is all safe. :)

    Thanks. He was quite proud of himself and everyone on the crew. He said it is amazing how everything they were taught in boot camp makes so much sense and really comes into play. -especially in this type of situation. Kudos to all of the CCs and their hard work preparing our coasties for anything and everything! Here is hoping the damage wasn't too extensive. I'll keep you posted.
