    The owner of the fishing vessel Lady Mary that sunk off the coast of Cape May late March is criticizing the USCG for a lenghty response time- thus causing the deaths of 6 of the 7 souls on board.nono

    Those of you not familiar with the Lady Mary incident, there are related links towards the bottom of the article.

    Try not to get all steamed up while reading it, and especially the ignorant comments people left afterwards.

    Wow....just....wow. How can people be so damn ignorant? Atleast there are a few people pointing out that all Commander Pena did was recieve a call, go to that call, and rescue the people that were on scene. How can you do anything but commend her and the other Coasties for that? I just don't get how some people's minds work.

    People always need someone to blame... the helo didn't get there fast enough, the ambulance was too slow, the cops ignored the call... I have a BIG MOUTH and you'll notice I didn't say a thing about this one... Yep, it makes my skin crawl, I knew people that went down in a helo crash in Kodiak in 1986. They were responding to a call for a patient that needed transport. They all died. But you have to develop a thick skin to it. Someone will always point a finger and it's easier to point it at the rescuers, they are the strangers, then at someone on the boat... "How oculd my husband have made a mistake? It must have been the CG didn't get there fast enough." It's easier to blame... you just sorta gotta let it go...

    If you can guess when he'll graduate, you are a step ahead of me at this point!  Keep plugging Colin!

    Well the owner is trying to point blame else where because he knew that he had faulty equipment on board and inaccurate logs of who was actually on board. Its a sad situation but I agree with Old Guard, people just need someone to blame and for the most part anyone with a level head is going to see that the CG is not to blame.
