Tonight the F/V Katmai goes down on the show and the CG goes out for the rescue.  It was very moving but there was a very big blunder!  If anyone saw the show, tell me what it was!

And yes, I do know what it was.

If you can guess when he'll graduate, you are a step ahead of me at this point!  Keep plugging Colin!

I'm not sure Kyle will pick up on it so ok... Mike Rowe is the one that narrates the show. As the F/V Katmai is going down and the distress call is sent they show our heroes spring into action. Helo's start out, a C-130 is launched and they show a ship enroute to the scene.

Mike Rowe says "The Coast Guard Cutter Acushnet is going to the scene." Well the hull number on the ship was 39. The Acushnet is 167. Hull number 39 belongs to our own resident KodiakGirl and her mom Jen899193, moderator extraordinaire and the CGC Alex Haley! I just said to Scott "That's the Alex Haley, look for KodiakGirl!" ANd Mike Rowe says Acushnet. Would yuo believe Scott, my boyfriend of almost 13 years, says "Well guess you didn't know that one!" Oh silly, silly man... he doubts me and my Coastie knowledge!!!! Ipulled up an image of the Acushnet and the Haley and said "OK which one says hull number 39???" Once again, just made me prove to him, I DO KNOW EVERYTHING! LOL

:-) I was thinking about writing to the show!

For info, it really was Acushnet that responded to the Katmai sinking, so the narration was correct, just not the footage.

    I would have never seen that...oh I didn't...LOL

To us civilians it flowed just perfectly with nail biting suspense...very sad how they found the one fisherman and still not being able to locate any of the others.

Us firefighters pick up those kind of things all the time in fire related movies and TV shows...excellent eye and ear Macie...and I have learned in just a short amount of time that yes you are always right...should I send Scott an email :p

An interesting case if you know the facts. I honestly don't know if I can talk about it though, considering I believe it's still under investigation, and I didn't work the case.

The Time Bandit folks are the Hillstrands. You should remember them because Andy raises horses in Indiana.<!-- Edit -->

The Hillstrand boys are hot but Phil on the Cornelia Marie... woo-hoo! I wish he weren't sick this year... I hope he starts to get better and comes back. I am wishy-washy on the Wizard, I sort of like Keith but then I really don't like Mouse... he irks me!

What a tease they did on the Deadliest Catch showing intense ice conditions and the Coast Guard calling the Cornelila Marie only to show you they were talking about how far the ice was before open water in the harbor....such a tease!

If you watch "After the Catch 3" where they talk about their stories, the coast guard is featured in it. Gives me chills to know I will be part of that group!
Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest
