Here's one. Can you clarify the question of whether electric razors are allowed at boot camp? Some say they are now allowing them, some say not. Thanks, and welcome back!

"it's just 8 weeks"...the original series was a production of the Coast Guard Channel.I imagine it will be on their website when it is finished with the editing/production. Coast Guard Channel

Congratulations on your graduation and getting orders to a WPB. I also was in Bravo company but...it was Bravo 101 back in the August of 1978. Good luck with your assignment.

Congrats & welcome back to the real world! :) My only question... was it anything you thought you prepared yourself for? Seems like everyone has an idea and it's nothing at all like they thought. Enjoy your leave! Macie

When we went to the exchange, someone did buy an electric razor. Our company went to the exchange like three times without the CC's, so people were buying basically whatever they wanted.

Thank you all for your kind welcome! Yes, boot camp was nothing at all what I imagined it. I won't give away any details so those that haven't gone will get the inside scoop, but I thought it would be way different. As far as the video, I can't remember if it was X-Ray or not. That sounds right though. Let's see...any suggestions...don't bring your CC's problems (people sleeping in the head, nobody wanting to clean, etc). Deal with those problems through your squad leader. Move fast, sound off, know your required knowledge, and know how to respond properly.

A question I have always had, does the USCG issue dog tags?

I don't think you are issued dog tags unless you go into a combat zone. I could be wrong, so don't take it as gospel.

Way different as in better or worse? :) Was it as bad as we (those with shipdates and those hoping for a ship dates) are probably preparing for? |

USCGfamily, I'm not saying! :P But I really think it depends on who your CC's are. Mine were awesome. Another company that shared the same building as us had a CC that is somehow related to Satan. (Hey, she said it, not me)

Who were your CC's? My son absolutely LOVED BMC Ruchser! He thought they all had their good points and liked all of them. But BMC... there was just something about him that Colin instantly respected and admired! Colin is funny when he imitates Chief, it isn't anything disrespectful, it is flattering and hysterical.
