I just saw Star Trek today and I LOVED IT! Granted I watched the show with my Dad when I was younger but man JJ Abrams, way to make something that makes sense for once (sorry, taking my anger out on him for the show LOST). I think I'm going to look into enlisting for the Star Fleet when the time comes. I will already have experiance working with Aliens right? :-)

Anyway, I highly recomend this film y'all. Anyone see Terminator? Angels and Deamons?

I rarely ever go to the movies. It is way too expensive and I'm spoiled by DVR and being able to pause. Having to go to a movie and actually sit through it in a straight 90 minutes or 2 hours... Oh good lord, I just don't think I can do it. Plus I pay a bazillion dollars a month on directv so I just wait until it comes out on HBO or Showtime... so by the time I see a movie, it isn't new anymore! LOL

Colin called and said he went to see Star Trek... well Colin & I love to watch movies together because we are both wiseenheimers (would you have ever guessed). This is NOT a spoiler so no alert... there is a just a scene where the Enterprise gets a little banged up... well you have to remember Colin is in drydock right now. He says to the SN with him "Wow, that is going to be a lot of scraping & painting to fix that!" There were a few other comments that might be spoilers so I'll pass on posting those but let's just say it has probably gotten back to the ship not to go to the movies with my son because he is a funny jerk! LOL

I would highly recommend seeing "Night at the Museum 2", I know it sounds corny but the first one was rather good and my wife and I saw the second one last night and it was pretty good, lots of funny parts.

Buck-I liked the first one as well. I just saw "Obsessed" with Beyonce. I am not a fan of her music but she did a hell of a job on the movie. It was actually suspenseful and entertaining. I love to go to the movies - it's the ritual of the thing, not the actual movies!! Plus here in Hawaii, it's the only place with great airconditioners!!! Macie-you and I would be a riot at the movies - I can't help myself - my dad says that my commentary about a movie is as entertaining as the movie!!! I tend to run to the sarcastic side of life....

The two of you would crack each other up so bad you wouldn't last five minutes in a movie before the ushers asked you to please leave...<!-- Edit -->

    LOL...LOL

I thought Star Trek was really good, however a large group next to us thought it was great. They would hoot and holler and laugh and were almost as entertaining as the movie.

Angels and Demons was good. Hard to go wrong with Ron Howard and Tom Hanks but just like the Da Vinci Code it had sub-titles in places and was kind of slow but good acting and neat scenery. I dislike sub-titles greatly it is hard to watch the movie when having to read and if I wanted to read the movie I would have just bought the book!

Plan to see the Night Muse next weekend!

I saw Night at the Museum 2 at an IMAX and liked it! I'm a Ben Stiller fan, and a sucker for stupid humor...the first one was good, but I much preferred the second one!

Its a bit old but I just watched "Deja Vu" last night for the first time and it was awesome. The CG is even in it a few times. If you like action that makes you think a bit I would highly recommend it.

    Deja Vu was very good.

Another one out on DVD that I enjoyed a lot is "New in Town" with  Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr. I laughed a good bit.

My wife and I thought the proposal was hilarious...it was a great movie choice for this weekend.

Betty White, Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds were very funny.

We saw "UP". I thought it was great. Very funny and, like usual with Disney, more than just a kid's cartoon.

We thought we were going to a 2D showing but it was actually a 3D showing so they handed us the 3D glasses. My wife and I both wear glasses so we just wore the 3D glasses over the 2D glasses. It worked great for me and I was really impressed with the 3D effects. I saw "Dracula" in 3D back in '79 and was NOT impressed with that, but the technology has come a long way.

Anyway, my wife complained about wearing the 3D glasses over her regular glasses. Said she couldn't see a thing. So she took off her regular glasses and just watched it through the 3D glasses and said that was ok, although she said the movie was dim.

Walking out at the end, we threw the 3D glasses in the bin and headed for the door. After about 50', my wife screamed! Said she still had the 3D glasses and must have thrown her expensive prescription sunglasses in the bin. So, I dug about 300 pairs of glasses out of the bin and sifted through them for her sunglasses, which took about three minutes. They all looked alike.

After thinking about it, we realized she had mixed up her sunglasses and the 3D glasses as soon as she walked into the theater and she ended up watching the movie just wearing sunglasses. So, she probably didn't get the full effect!

    ;-)

    LOL...LOL...

My 18 y/o loved it and saw it two times that I know of and was planning another go at it. That was the most conversation I have gotten from him in the past two weeks, how awesome the movie was and we needed to go and he was going again.

Pretty sure we will go with Wepprop on this one especially since the last awesome movie recommendation my son gave us we did not last 15 minutes before turning it off...

There's where parents and children greatly differ! However, I'm not sure why ... but I'm definitely going with Wepprop as well. Maybe being 24 puts much much closer to the "adult 28-34" demographic?

I retract a previous statement from recent months pertaining to Alaska! I said something along the lines of it being "crappy" because I'm a wuss who can't handle such a substantial amount of cold weather. However, a girl from high school just moved up there as a tour guide. To be completely honest, I didn't know if she even knew where Alaska was on a map. But her pictures are exquisite! Secondly, I went to see "The Proposal" tonight per recommendation of the ol' board. I thought it was hysterical! Betty White reminds me of my grandmother... which is sort of scary. And if Alaska is truly that beautiful, it's definitely a place I would love to be! I may be dressed like an eskimo while I'm there, though! [No pun intended]. But cute movie!!!

Trust me when I say no matter what her pictures look like, no matter what the scenery looked like in the movie... it isn't HALF as gorgeous as it is when you are standing at the mouth of a river that opens to the ocean and behind you there is a towering green, lush mountain with a beautiful snow cap and the sky is bluer than you have ever imagined in your wildest dreams and a bald eagle just soars over your head........ No movie, no picture, not even my description can you leave with that jaw dropping feeling of amazement at some place so untouched, unspoiled & remotely beautiful!

Yeah... I sorta think it is anything but crappy! LOL And by your second summer you'll be walking around in shorts laughing at all the newbies that are in turtlenecks & mittens in July!! Just don't laugh too loud, someone will pull out photographic evidence of you dressed the same way 12 months earlier! :-)

I concur with Molera...Transformers 2 was very good with non-stop action and it even had some great laughs.

Very much worth the price of admission!

I would recommend using the rest room before the movie starts and to avoid the large beverage on this one...2 1/2 hours plus the commercials and previews before the actual movie so closer to 3 hours...lots of people had to exit during the movie for the dreaded potty break...:p

Whoa, that is shocking to hear. I am a fan of the series and have been looking forward to this movie for a while...

Hopefully it was the early showing, and not the movie itself that caused you to fall sleep.

Last movie that I saw was Pelham. Two thumbs up!
