what is the process to get a duplicate license

Most states it is actually illegal to possess 2 licenses. I had to get a duplicate when I lost mine... but that was long before 9/11 and all of the crazy security things you ahve to go through now. I just walked into DMV, said I lost my license somewhere, told them my license number (yep, I know all of my past license numbers) and they charged me 5 or 10 bucks, took my picture, voila I was done. Now you would probably need a blood test & a certified letter from the Pope that you are who you say you are! Good luck getting it!

Mine was a captains license for a Master of Steam or Motor vessel. It was in a tackle box on the boat and the whole thing is missing.

Ahhh well that's a horse of another color... Capt Nick might be the person you want to seek out on this forum. He might be able to best answer that question for you. There isn't much information in there since we are in the rebuilding process of our forum... but there is an area espeically for licensing that pertains to boats. Posting it here under general questions, I assumed driver's license. Sorry about that.

Haha..that is what I thought this was about to. We were at the DMV for my son today and it was easier to get into the Coast Guard than get a new Driver's License from the State of Florida!
