Well I am a spouse and since no one else answered I will try to and, tell you what my husband went through. First of all get prepared for some yelling and screaming that is first of all, now you will have to take a swim test in basic you have to swim 50 meters using certain strokes that are pre-determined by the CG. If you don't have a duty station already promised to you in your contract you will get one about a week before you graduate. If you are a problem or fail some parts you will be recycled (start over). If you are a non-rate then I am not sure what you options on jobs will be once you get to a duty station. My husband was prior army so he got A-school right out of PITSTOP which is basic for the prior military which are also there at cape may. If your on a 378 then most are on a 3 in 3 out rotation which means that 3 months U/W (under Way) 3 months home. If your on land I could'nt tell ya we are still on our first duty station and its the Hamilton in san diego. Bouy tender could'nt help ya there either lol. But just remember it will all seen over whelming at first but you will be ok. Follow the rules and stay focused and all will be fine. I hope that this helps you.
