I'm .2 points shy of my GPA requirements. Is there any lead way to this or should I go and take classes to pull this up? http://www.uscg.org/forum/emoticons/cry.gif

I was told they take your grades as a whole. My undergrad GPA was in the lower 2's, but since I went to grad school and had over a 3.5 I was told that brings my overall average up past the 2.5 mark. In my board interview, GPA was never brought up because I was higher than I needed. They allow you to raise your GPA anyway you can. Take some extra classes, try a small post-undergrad program. Anything like that counts towards your OVERALL GPA.

Minimums are exactly that... the minimum. Try and pull up your GPA the best that you can. Go to www.uscg.mil and click on officer programs to read all the basic eligibility requirements.

Boomer you have a pm concerning the interview

A little information about myself:
I have a bs degree within information systems, 12 graduate school credit hours, beyond the minimum required gpa. I come from an Army familty and have most of my knowledge about the army. I am meeting my recruiter tomarrow to submit paper work for the DOC process, can any one tell me how competitive the process is? We all know times are hard, I imagine I/we would be up against a stiff crowd of applicants, am i wrong? Secondly is the quota for DOC reserve seperate from OCS, or am I up against OCS people too?
