    Hey Guys,

Just talked with my recruiter and got my Bootcamp date of February 23rd. A little later than I would have liked, but at least waiting in the unknown is done.

I will be shipping out of the San Diego Meps, anybody else get there ship date for February 23rd yet?

Also, would like to thank everyone who gave me input along the way, can't wait now until that day comes ; ]

    Thanks,<!-- Edit -->

Congratulations! It will be worth the wait. You have plenty of time to study the Helmsman and prepare physically. If you don't have the Helmsman, you can download a copy at the FAQ link in the Recruiting Forum.

    Good Luck

    Bryce,
My son just got the call today as well, for Feb 23, out of San Diego. We'll have to get you two together somehow... well, all of you for that matter, at least on these boards or by e-mail. Dan will just miss having a birthday at Cape May. His 19th b-day is April 30th. Looks like he will celebrate it at his first duty station.
It was a long haul. He started the enlistment process in January and has been waiting since he dep'd in in July for this date. Now we can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel.

    Congratulations, Bryce and CGFowen!

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Very cool CGFowen22, will see you there, how old will you be turning on the 24th, just curious?

LolliPop, that would certainly be cool to get to know him, he is only a few months older than me as I will be turning 19 about a month before leaving for boot camp. Is he out of the San Diego Recruiting Office, if so who's his recruiter and mind me asking his name. As I was just in there today and heard of a few others leaving the same time I am.

Now it's time to start counting the days, only 126 days from today ; ]

CGFowen22, 25 isn't bad at at all, still young enough to be joining ; ]

Dshepherd, Very cool, not sure on the Graduation date actually, was talking to my recruiter about it as I was unsure if it was 8 weeks from the Friday of the first week, or exactly how it worked.

Looks like we've already got a nice group together for the 23rd, hopefully the weather will be a little warmer than going in December or January.

Yes, I already tried to figure out what day you guys will graduate. My calculations came up with April 15th.
From what I've learned over these last months of reading on the is board... Recruits arrive every Tuesday and boot camp is a little over 7 weeks with graduations almost alway on Thursdays. The exception is Thanksgiving and other days where a holiday lands on a Thursday. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to correct me if I'm wrong.

122 days? My countdown clock says 112 days until Feb. 23rd. Better count again. It's closer than you think! Yes, I actually have a countdown clock. And Dan thinks it's (the clock) pretty cool too. It's on loan from my dad. He used it earlier this year to help him count down to when he retires. Kinda cool. It's made by countdownclocks Intl. or countdownclocks.com
Bryce, I'm sending you a pm in a minute.

Sorry my numbers were off, meant to say 112, that's what I typed in the other thread, not usually off on my numbers either.

    Either way can't wait.

Thanks for the PM Lollipop, sending you one back now.

Not sure if I'll be shipping out of San Antonio or Mobile. Things got complicated with my recruiter.

    Welcome, BAskins!
Only 103 days left until you guys leave. Be sure you all watch the "It's just Eight Weeks" video series. (Google it) There are nine episodes and they won't take long to go through. I just watched them with my son and it was VERY interesting and scary at the same time. All I can say is..... you guys better be ready physically or you won't stand a chance. I'm really glad it's not me going. I wouldn't be able to handle it. I'd be in the PEP group - Performance Enhancement Program for sure!

    Thanks, lollipop!

I'll be sure to check those videos out. I've been on swim teams and soccer/track teams for 4 years now. I'm not worried about the physical challenges, but mostly the stress of them trying to break us down. It's also my understanding that the CG did away with PEP group.

PEP is gone, replaced by "other" forms of motivation, including reversion.

Still Counting down the days, 82 more days.

Anyone else get a February 23rd date yet?

Also another question, exactly what date would the graduation be for this class. Sorry still a little confusion about what Friday it would be. Thanks in advance for any input.

By my own calculations, graduation should be on April 16th, 2010. Boot camp is 7 1/2 weeks long.

I as well will be shipping out on Feb. 23rd, im coming from Phoenix, AZ. To clear anything up, graduation will be on April 23rd, according to my recruiter it is " the Friday after the 8th Tuesday from when you arrive".

Still I think we have plent of ime to get a for sure answer, other than that, let me know if you guys have a facebook page so we can all link up and kinda prepare for basic together.

Nope, it's the 16th. You guys will graduate 7 weeks from the first Friday you are there, providing you don't get reverted or rephased. I asked the question over on the recruiting board.
