Hey to all, just found this forum.My son is on the Melon.He is third generation coastguard.I was in his mom was in and his grandfather.I was on the Chase and also stationed on Kodiak.It's nice to see all the support on these pages for loved ones serving their country.

When were you in Kodiak? I was there from 85-90. My ex was in the MAA shack when he got there, moved over to the mailroom, then went to A school & came back as the only MST at the MSD with LT Sam Bromley, greatest officer ever, God rest his soul.

Hi and Happy thanksgiving, I was on Kodiak from late in 1980 until 1988.I left for about a year,Aug 84 until dec 85 if I am remembering the dates right.I loved Kodiak and still do.I have been back a couple of time fishing and would like to go back someday.I also tended bar at the Kings Inn for a couple of years....I just sent an email to my son they are out to sea I think.I spent a couple of Thanksgivings underway and it is never an easy time to be away from home.But when I think of the challenges these kids have now it makes my time in seem easy.
