    so i've read the discriptions on the home page but what i want to know is what would i really be doing as a reservist.  i am thinking BM but i don't want to be painting and coiling line all weekend.  Is it possible to become a coxswain as a reservist?  what are the other discriptions such as Avionics Electrical Technicians , Electricians Mates, The Electronics Technician?
     
     
    i'd like to know what would i really be doing on a typical weekend??? and my two weeks in the summer???

    reservist huh? its gonna be tough for you. you're expected to do what active duty members do daily, but you have to learn to do it in just one weekend a month.
    i know a reservist that got sent to BM A-school right out of basic training. you will be chippin and paintin and all that stuff, but thats whatever one starts out with. you have to work on getting qualified to stand watches, be a qualified crew member, a boarding team member, and you can get trained to become a boat coxswain. you can do pretty much everything a regular active duty member does, you just have to bust your ass because you only get one weekend a month to do it. but hey, im active duty and i dont know much about reserves, just thought id throw in my 2 cents. as for AET's and anything in aviation, i know nothing about, there stuff is competely different.

    thanks for the input.  it helps alot.  do you know if there is any way to actually talk to an active duty member at the base i would be stationed at???

    yeah its easy, find the number for the station, and call lol youll be able to find it online
