    My husband is a 2LT in the army and we are exploring a careeralternative in the coastguard.  He has to serve 3 years in the infantry.  We were wondering what he would have to do to join (transfer, ect.) the coastguard, what jobs there were, and what the life is like for a family.  Any shared experience or answers would be helpful to get us started.  Thank You!
