    My husband has been working on getting his license renewed for the last three months.   Has done the radar certifications, medical examinations, dotted all the i's and dotted the t's, and jumped through the hoops.   YET, three phone calls a day to the Coast Guard office in Memphis is still not working.  No one is returning phone calls and no one in the CG seems to care at this point.  

    Don't they realize that we're not talking about a pleasure cruise?  We understand Homeland Security and safety issues.   My husband has been a towboat captain for 28 years.  Being able to support a family depends on that license renewal being processed....BY A DEADLINE.  And yet no one seems to take the time to return a phone call to even let him know how much longer this will take.   What is taking them so long??
