USAA, hands down. They are a military only bank, and do a great job taking care of us. Go to www.usaa.com for details.

Why do you prefer USAA, Gears? Their website hasn't convinced me to switch from Chase, yet. =) Sure, the free ATM seems convient, but I can't even remember the last time I went to an ATM. It would be an added perk when I wanted to get money, but what about the times I just want to use my card? Most places use AmEx, but not everywhere.

USAA for sure. Best bank I've ever had hands down. Compared to USAA Chase is like stuffing your money in a mattress. In the CG you're either a Boatswains Mate or you work for one |

Bored, USAA is a MILITARY ONLY bank. They provide banking, insurance (home, life, car, etc.), competitive loans, mortgages, etc. There are no branches to support so BS fees for stuff you don't use don't exist. Moving around with the military, having a USAA acct. is like having a bank in your pocket.

Hello all! I would like to put some input on this here topic. USAA!! This bank is awesome and they are perfect for the coastie lifestyle. You can do EVERYTHING from their website or your cell phone now. I have car insurance, renter's insurance, a banking, and savings account. The staff are REALLY friendly and will help you out a lot.

Yes, USAA will pre approve you for a car loan in about 5 minutes. The rates are competitive. I just bought a new truck, I gave them the USAA interest rate, the dealership beat it. My credit is second only to the President's so I'm sure that helped.

Just for info, our experience was that a non-rate fresh out of boot is unlikely to qualify for a car loan from USAA or anyone else unless they have previously established credit or they get a co-signer. |

USAA I had a hard time getting a loan from them. I am 19 so my credit history is limited (cell phone, comcast, rent, power/water) and USAA wouldn't give me a vehicle loan where union bank of california and some other banks were willing to give me a decent interest rate.
