Does anyone know some good ways to study for the ASVAB and I really can’t decide whether I’d rather be a BM Or ME, what are some of the proms and cons of the two

Google "ASVAB Practice Tests." You'll get a whole bunch of results. Just so you're aware, in the CG you don't select your job specialty (called a rating in the CG and Navy)at time of enlistment. Once you arrive at your first unit after boot camp, you'll put your name on the list for the A School you want to attend. Also know, the list for ME A School is closed for the foreseeable future. That could (and likely will) change by the time you're ready to decide what rating you want. Because of the closure, the waiting list will likely be backed up for a few years

I'm not sure that's available for BM.  Besides, going from boot camp to A school is not a particularly good idea.  You get no exposure to working as a non rate, the very people you'll be supervising as a Petty Officer.  In order to effectively lead people, it really helps if you've been in their shoes.  Also, going from boot camp to A school often results in getting very little respect from your peers.

The other advantage to going to the Fleet after boot camp is that it gives you an opportunity to see the other ratings at work, and you may decide that BM is not what you want after all.  Perfect example:  A friend of mine was set on going to AST (Aviation Survival Tech aka rescue swimmer) A school.  All she talked about and trained for.  Then she went to a cutter, found the OS rating and fell in love with it.  She went to OS A school and made a career out of it.

Also, I'm kind of curious as to why you're in such a hurry to get to A school. The CG isn't going anywhere.  Take your time and soak up as much knowledge as you can as a non rate.

BM is not available straight out of boot camp for active duty. I would recommend requesting to be a Seaman afloat to work closely with BM's and learn things before you go to school. As CPORJM stated it's best to get some experience first rather than go straight to school, I've seen some boot to A school petty officer who have no leadership skills because they never experienced what a non rate actually does.

Pick selection, what the class is like, anything for that matter. Thanks
