    Hello, im 19 years old and am really thinking about joining the coast guard. I eventualy want to be a cop as well.
    I was wondering if you guys could tell me all the different jobs (without abreviations please) and what they do.

    My 2 biggest interests are the guys that board boats and the ones that hang from the helicopter and rescue people. Thanks for the help.

    I digged around for some topics that were created a few months ago. I read that the "Boatwain's Mate" career is the best to get into if you are somewhat interested in law enforcement. I may be joining for the BM also.

    zk101- I am in the same boat as you. I am 18 and want to join the USCG. I also am going to be a law Enforcement officer after college. I would look into the CG reserves. get a degree (assoc or Bachelors), and your pay will increase, and you might be elligible for OCS. good luck with your decisions.. I was told to try boatswains mate as well...
