    I recently received a vessel safety check from one of our local CGAux members;  he strongly advised I secure a copy of the Navigation Rules - Rules of the Road and keep it on board my vessel.
     
    I found a copy at West marine for $12; also one on the Govt Printing Office website for $19.
     
    Does the USCG still provide these free or must I procure commercially?

    The ROR require any vessel over 12 meters in length to have a copy on board. To the best of my knowledge the CG does not provide copies so you must purchase a copy from the GPO or local vendor.<!-- Edit -->
