i will be graduating from college this spring and one major option of mine of to join the coast gaurd.  However a couple of issues are holding me back and any clarity or inside info would help me out greatly.  first of all, after boot camp or officer candidate school is it possible to be a home owner near your station and does anyone do this.  reason being i do not want to live in an apartment or barricks, i have had enoug of that shit in college.  also, what kind of free time do you get?  is it like a regular job where you work for part of the day and then can do whatever ( say work on my house)  lastly, would i be paid more being a college graduate and all.  thanks to anyone willing to help me out.
