    Has anyone ever herd of someone serving active duty CG and volunteer for the AUX at the same time??

    Maybe I should correct this a little bit... I know that it is possible per regulations, I guess my question is more along the lines of; whoever has done this... is it extremly difficult to do both or does the CG aux require a lot of time?

    I have been apart of CAP and I know that they are one meeting a month for senior members and can take what ever classes they need to when they can. Is it basicly the same for the CG?

    It all depends on what you want to do.  It is up to you the amount of time you dedicate to it, we do have monthly meetings but are not mandatory... But it is good to attend to be aware of opportunities and to plan things.  I for one opted for boat crew/patrols and now got a Coxswain rating, and do spend some time underway on patrol.  I also teach boating safety classes, do vessel inspections, dealer visitations, and career days.  I am a teacher full time but have plenty of free time to dedicate to it.  I do know a few active duty coasties who are part of the Aux, even CO's...
