I know in the Aux you have to pay for your own uniforms. What is that cost typically?

there is the link for the UDC im pretty sure the aux uniforms are the same as active and reserve except there are a few changes. i know the ODU's are the same except the collar device is different. as for the dress uniforms im not to sure about how those tend to work.

    Thanks for the link Britt.

Specifically, for anyone else interested, you can find the price list here:

The main differences are the logo's on the collar, cover, sleeves are Silver instead of Gold

8TH aux district has a good Used Uniform store where you get great deals. Find out what most of your flotilla wears. Usually you can get by with a set of ODU's and the Tropical Blue long for pretty much everything.
Sportsman's Guide has really good prices on black boots for the ODU's and also on black low quarters.
Don't worry about buying all the uniforms as you will seldom need them. We had a retired O-6 join one of my flotillas once. Went out and spent $$$$ on buying ALL the uniforms. He had mess dress, service dress blue, etc etc. Did it for him and his girlfriend. Then found that we did not have formal dinners or anything like that. Later wound up resigning and joined a yacht club.

If you buy cheaper boots, you can get an ODU with all required items for less than 100 bucks. Trop Blue is about the same. For the Auxiliary that is about all we need.

All I know is that when your buy them at basic, your paycheck is like nothing. I almost got mad at my husband for spending all his check because I didn't know when he left that he would have to buy them(every other branch issues them to you). It is funny now. You have the option to buy more of them in basic(and you might want to you ruin them fast when you are the SN or the FN) But my husband is leaving for A school in a month and decided he has to have a whole new set of ODUs and Boots. His look like hell already and it has only been 4 months.
