    I am thinking to buy a sailboat in FL, sale for a few weeks to Bahamas and then bring to my state MS and register. Can i do that or i have to register in my state before sailing anywhere? It probably takes a few weeks to register and i may not have time for that since my vacation is scheduled, hence the question.

    if you register with the USCG you dont need to with your state USCG superceeds state and you can do that at any USCG facility pending an inspection (not a big deal if the boat is in good conditoin and very informative) happy sailing
