It's hard to say. The ASVAB score itself is great. As long as he got a 109 on the GT of the test, he has a qualifying score to apply for OCS. Based on his overall score, I would bet that he has the 109 on the GT. The GPA will factor in to the selection process, but it's not the only factor they look at. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Degrees (STEM Degrees) are a plus in the process. The officer application process consists of an interview with three CG officers (very important part), a written narrative (very important part), a resume, a physical, and a lot of paperwork. It looks like we won't have another OCS selection panel until next spring though. Have him go to the www.gocoastguard.com site and take a look at the officer opportunities section.
