I completed a flight phyiscal, without any complications, 6 months ago and am still showing NPY next to my name on the AST "A" School list ( I am currently # 34 ). My concern is that I will be passed up on orders to the airman program even though I completed a phyiscal several months ago. My command contacted ASTC Thomas Emerick, the AO for aviation, who replied that the NPY by my name will not be removed until he receives an approved flight physical signed by the aviation flight surgeon. Is it abnormal for a physical to take over 6 months to be approved? Am I going to be passed up for upcoming airman program orders? Is there anybody I can contact to inquire about the status of my phyiscal? ( I contacted the hospital that condudcted the physical and they responded , " The physical is on the flight surgeon's desk waiting to be signed." ) I have also heard a rumor that I could still receive orders to the airman program with a flight physical pending approval, but would not be able to report to "A" school until it was approved; Is there any truth to that?
Any information is helpful. Thank you all for your time.
