A very proud moment for dad...my son is just a few days away from becoming a certified firefighter for the state of Texas...
This Friday (4/30) is family night where we will show off all that they have learned...then the final academy test, the state skills testing and then the final state test all next week, then off to EMT school for another 5 weeks...22 weeks of training with dad

He is a giant...omg I have to look up to see both of my boys...The wife is very tall  I assigned him to loading the injured pt into the helicopter on family night...they are teasing him somewhat fierce about getting a hair cut by the rotor blades...lol

lol. my son is taller than both is parents! But that's not saying much. He's only 5'5 1/2". Yes, we are short. And my middle son will pass up my husband any day now. They never had a chance at an average height!

Kyle what a very handsome son you have.. Knowing the history seeing the smile on your sons face is amazing!! Such a proud young man you have there! I'm so happy for you both and can't wait to hear more of his future success!! He has some pretty big awesome shoes to fill but I have no doubt that you have prepared him well! Yippy!! Kyle im so happy for you both. You have helped so many people on this site when we need a pick me up or advice. I know personally you were there for me when my son was at boot camp and he enjoyed your letters you sent him. You have listened to us go on and on when our love ones are at boot camp as well as when they Graduate now at long last its your turn to enjoy the happiness first hand…

Fire Graduation for Garland Fire Academy Class 44 was just awesome...I could not be more proud of Michael. Here is an article and two slide shows of it if interested GFA 44He is now complete with the fire side of the academy successfully passing his state test! When finished with EMT school he will be a certified firefighter for the State of Texas...Woot! Woot! Seeing a teenage boy change into a fine young man right before you is very rewarding...he was voted most improved by his classmates.

I have to agree Kyle On the Seeing them change from a teenager to a young man comment!!!... Its amazing seeing how much they change in just a year !!! Congratulations to your son on passing his State test.

Well, I hope so too! I'm back... never made it enlisted. Ran into some personal issues. However, looks like I may go Reserve ASAP. Tossing this master's degree out the window! I have a few options in store, maybe I'll end up Active soon, too! Keep us posted soon. Beware though. As you know, the ladies love men in uniform.... so don't let him out of your sight!  |
