Oh that Westboro group is sickening... I understand freedom of speech but to say it is a good thing for anyone's child to die... turns my stomach! I hope the bikers are there to block them, they are such a God send for parents on this day.

I think it's absolutely insane to hear of protests. On the upside, there are others who travel in support of our fallen heroes. When Bub was killed in Dec. a retired vet drove across the state of Illinois to bring over 300 flags to line the streets. About a month and a half ago, another friend lost someone in Southern Illinois and the man was there to line the streets with the flags once more.

I think everyone should have freedom of speech but how incredibly insensitve to use that freedom to deeply wound an already wounded family. Send a message to washington - fine and dandy but sheesh - that is simply inhumane. Send the message to the right people dangit. That's like protesting against alcohol at a teetotalers convention - pretty darn pointless. I'm just sayin.....

Amen Jan- I'm all for freedom of speech! We can't lose that right.. It just boggles my mind someone who tries to put on a name of an organization and then be completely against what it stands for. I just don't understand it at all..
By all means channel that anger and issues to the proper target. Not already wounded and down families. I simply just can't deal with it. But these are the same people who protest abortion clinics and spit in the women's faces.. ya- like that's gonna help. UGH!!!!
