Female/18 and joining USCG reserves + going to college in january.
Just took ASVAB and received an 85
Is boot camp in september of this year a possibility because i'm a female(less of us going = more room?)

My recruiter seemed to indicate that I could get through the process fairly quickly, i'll have my background check paperwork filled out by tomorrow and i'll be scheduled for MEPS asap. Also, i'm looking at going to an 'A' school next summer because i'll be a college student in january so there isn't time, so how long does it take to get into an A school and the recruiter was talking about a guarenteed contract? I'm looking at going for MST or IS...could someone explain this process?

The process can vary from office to office so don't take any of this as scripture.

Once you successfully navigate MEPS your recruiter should submit a request for a rate (job) and a billet (position at a unit). Once that is approved he'll submit a request for an "A" school date. Once he has that, he can request a boot camp reservation. It can take a couple of months for everything to get approved. You'll just have to be patient.
