If I am a BM at a small boat station in the reserves, do I stay at the station the entire weekend or do I work 8 hours, go to a hotel and come back the second day for 8 hours? |

It depends on the size of the unit. If there is billeting availabe, you will stay on base. If billeting is not available, you will stay in a hotel. |

| I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords. I'd like to remind them that as a trusted Coastie, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves. |

But what I'm asking is do I work the entire weekend or is it I work 8 hrs on saturday and do whatever I want until the 8 hours Sunday ? Is it like a couple of "shifts" or am I available the entire 48 hours of the weekend? |

My son did his first drill a few weekends ago, although he didn't actually drill, it was all paperwork. He's in the PSU unit, and will drill 8 hrs. a day, then he's free to do whatever until drill the next morning. |

Unless his unit goes on alert for a rescue, etc...then he'll be there until he's released. |

And you only stay in a hotel if you live more than 50 miles from the unit. Otherwise, you commute. |
