    Hey everybody! I'm John and I am from the middle of nowhere Wyoming (yeah, I know...) currently looking at the Coast Guard as an option and looking to gain some information. My hobbies are basically just redneck/outdoors stuff like hunting, fishing, camping, blah blah blah...

    Thanks alot guys!!! Pepper, it's like you can read my mind!! Alaska is the one place in the world i've always wanted to go! The whole night/day thing just amazes me and I need to check it out for myself!

    Pepper's son lived there, Jen's daughter lived there, I lived there for 10 years, my son was born there... Alaska is certainly a place on the hit parade for an outdoorsy/redneck sorta guy.

    You'll love the fishing!!!! I caught a 40lb King Salmon. They also released an 85lb halibut that my son caught...Too small! Took the salmon back to the Morale Welfare Rcreation facility at the Coast Guard base at Kodiak where a nice young woman Coastie filleted it, vacccum packed it,and froze it so we could take it home with us. Google Kodiak USCG MWR and take a look at the marvelous facilities they have.
