Ok My journey started last year when I decided I want to join the Coast Guard. I contacted my recruiter and went to see him. In the time it took to set up my physical etc. recruiting closed and I received that horrible phone call. My recruiter then told me to give him a call in June 2010 and we would get the ball rolling again. So, as of now I have taken the ASVAB and scored an 89 and passed the MEPS physical. My recruiter said he will send out my info to Cape May in August sometime and I should be at bootcamp at the latest December. I am lost not at this point. When do I sign some more papers? When do I get fingerprinted, background check, and credit checked? I would think all this would be done before he sent out my reservation. Its hard to talk to my recruiter because he is so busy, which I understand. Any insight would be great!!! and calm my nerves. Thanks so much!!

Once your reservation is set, you will complete the paperwork. Post reservation, you will Delay enlist, complete your security clearance paperwork, etc. Your credit is checked at the time of reservation.

When you delay enlist you will get an "inspect" Check. It is a very stripped down version of the MEPS physical to ensure your medical status has not changed.
