It looks like I will be going into the October class. I haven't received orders yet, but by the numbers it would make sense that I was next. When do orders typically get sent? Is A school now 8 weeks? When do I find out my PCS? Any answer would be greatly appreciated! Also, If you just recently graduated your experience would help too !

You're there for 6 weeks.  It's like a vacation.  LOL.  I saw like 5 or 6 YN classes go through when i was there

You won't get PCS orders to A School. You will get a list of available billets at some point while you are at school and you will pick from there. Then you will get PCS orders. I'm going to guess if it's like other A schools, you should receive orders with about 3 weeks left... if it's only a 6 week class, the turn around will be quick. So at least it isn't as bad as Husband had it with OS school and 18 weeks... you have to wait forever for those orders! LOL

Yeah, I believe that YN students get their orders to pick from on Thursday of the 1st week of school.  No joke.  Good luck, and have fun!

"A" School Orders are normally issued 14 weeks before the class starting date. If you see your name disappear from the "A" School List (if you were in the top section), that means that more than likely you were slated into the class and should have orders. YN "A" School is *now 8 weeks long* (vs. 6 weeks). Normally the picks are sent anywhere from the 2nd-4th week of training. Also if your single with no dependents, you would get a PCS/TEMDUINS set of orders, if you have dependents, you would get a TDY set of orders. With the TDY set, you would come back to your unit to do the checkout process and move your dependents to your next unit at that point. Alsom, you'll have a great time out there, just don't get into any trouble!
