Dress for success, well groomed, on time (early), bring a resume, driver's license, birth certificate, diploma, Social Security card. Be professional in your manners, and think of a list of questions in advance and write them down so you don't forget. Also, any pertinent medical files. Do as much research as possible about the Coast Guard so you are well versed about it's various missions and responsibilities.

Be enthusiastic and proactive! First impressions are lasting impressions.

ha sweet, i got all that in the bag! still nervous, but excited none the less. it's a big deal to me and i want to be as prepared as i possibly can. i have written a short paper on the what the core values mean to me, briefly described 3 of the several missions of the USCG, and written a letter for my recruiter as to why i want to join and why i should be accpted. oh and all my medical records as well.
