Does the CG accept U.S. Army Officers as direct commission officers, or do they have to enter some other way? Is there a way to get a conditional release from the army and transfer into the CG? Does this happen very often?
If not, does the CG accept U.S. Army Officers into the CG Reserve? How does this process work?
If so, is there a process for transitioning from the CG reserve as an officer,
into an active duty CG officer? If so, how do you do it? What is the
process? Is it very difficult to accomplish? Thank you for your time and
effort to answer my questions. |

You could apply via the Prior Trained Military Officer Program, our website www.gocoastguard.com has the details for the requirements. The site should answer all of your questions, if not your best best is to contact a recruiter. In order to request a conditional release you will have to work within your Chain of Command. |

The PTMO program is not holding panels this next fiscal. You will need to apply under the OCS or SRDC program. Your local recruiter will best be able to help. Give tham a call! I wish you the best! |
