it has been a year since i started the enlistment process.  i cant wait to be a coastie!  anyone else shipping this date?

My process has taken close to a year but thankfully I just recieved my ship date today. I will be leaving October 12 as well. I'm so damn excited

You guys might want to check with your recruiter on that date. I'm shipping the 19th, was scheduled for the 12th, but he called me back and told me that date is Columbus Day (a federal holiday) and I was moved to the 19th. Just thought I'd give you the head's up!

Huh, that's strange becuase the Tampa MEPS is shut down on Tuesday (the day you would ship). Oh well, could have misunderstood my recruiter, but I definitely was rescheduled for the 19th. Doesn't matter I guess, good luck! You'll see me rolling in the next week!

yea i am supposed to go meet with my recruiter 1 sept and sign the contract and dep also. how have you been preparing? have you memorized any of the 11 general orders or been working out?

havent really studied those yet i will be starting soon. just been primarily concerned with getting in shape and losing weight. how old are ya?

im 23, probably going to be one of the oldest at bootcamp, haha but yea i have been working out ALOT! i have gotten my 1.5 mile run down to 11 min. and trying to do 40 pushups/situps in a minute each. how old r u coolbreeze?

I'm 20 il be twenty one Oct 2nd so il be up there with ya. I've gotten myself to max 40 pushups in thirty seconds the run is my downfall I'm a big smoker but tryin to quit and I'm having a very hard time doing the run but I'm sure il get there

what rate are you going for lucas? i think im gonna try for ME. my recruiter told me he could get me into a guaranteed ME a school but i would have to wait til april to ship to boot so i decided against it and figured id just wait it out as a non rate.

the situps are where i need to work the most. i can knock out the pushups and did a 1.5 mi run in 11 minutes a couple days ago. but we still get over a month to get there. i have been looking into GM for a while now. i thought about trying to ask for a guaranteed a school but figured i wouldnt push my luck and just get in first. hopefully after GM school i can get into a taclet billet which is what i really would like to do. if your interested in ME check out the taclet program, "tactical law enforcement team". it looks pretty awesome.

I got my ship date about 2 weeks ago. Oct 12th also. Heading down to MEPS Sept 14 to DEP in. Coming out of Attalla, Alabama.

Hey LucasVA, I dont know yet, possibly ME. The wait is about a year for that A-school but I would rather wait it out as a non-rate than to wait for an opening.

My day is also October 12. I'm 25 years old and from Indianapolis, I was told there would be others from Indy as well if anyone would want to let me know. Looking forward to meeting you all.
