Hey everyone, I'm Elizabeth. 21, from Seattle and Houston, TX originally. I'm just starting to go through the process of joining the coast guard. I read up for a month about everything and now have been talking with my recruiter and passed the basic assessment. I have to fill out some more paper work but she thinks they can get me shipped out to basic in a months time depending on how fast I get everything in! I'm hoping after basic to go to the 12 week program to be a Public Affairs specialist because I've been in college already for awhile for Bachelors in Fine Arts - Documentary photography. And have a lot of experience in my career in doing public relations. So hopefully I can do that! Anyway. I'm starting to get my body in shape for everything now. Any training tips any of yall have?

I talked with my recruiter, filled out all the paper work and am starting to study for my ASVAB. Any tips any of yall have for it?

My recruiter wants to send me to MEPS in two weeks to get everything done and then said after I qualify that I will ship out to basic in 30 days so Im hoping to be at Basic in late October!

Welcome aboard Elizabeth. My tip for the ASVAB would be to take the practice tests on military.com or even hard copies if you have them. Take the practice tests seriously as if they were the real test and learn what you need to work on! I took all the practice tests online and when it came time to take the real one, I did awesome with almost no anxiety
