Well, we got our billets on monday. OS3 Setnicky is Key West, FL bound!! USCGC Thetis will be my new home in about 2 months. Anyone on here ever served on her?

Pftt. The Ocracoke is the best PB in the fleet  Congrats setnicky. You'll love Key West. Just be careful though. There is a lot that can get you in trouble there. Most of the establishments there love the military and give you good discounts on adult beverages. It's easy to get in trouble. As far as the thetis goes, it seems like a great ship. My co-worker was there as a non-rate and he loved it. You'll get to go to pretty cool places down in the Caribbean and South America. A great first billet. Enjoy Key West and stop by St. Pete on the way down if you'd like! |

Negative Husband, however someone did get the Venturous out of St. Pete, and someone got Sector Jacksonville. Someone in the sister class got HITRON Jacksonville. No sector St. Pete though. I might have to check out St. Pete! I've been to Florida a bunch of times but usually just Orlando, once to Daytona area. never the west coast or keys. I am extremely excited to check it out.

P.S. ... Sector Class, hard? Man they try some serious scare tactics on us but I owned that class. Found it to be so easy, fun really. Some people hate it but I had a blast. Then again I'm liking shipboard a lot too (Now that were in the labs, the first 9 days worth was sooooo boring - lol.) I miss having Mr. Cheney as my instructor though!!
